Story
95% of adults in the UK with learning disabilities are unemployed. We want to change that.
The GoCardless Access Employee Resource Group is dedicated to improving disability and neurodiversity inclusion in the workplace. As part of that, we are delighted to raise money for Fair Shot, which is a social enterprise cafe and registered UK charity that aims to transform the lives of young adults with learning disabilities and/or autism through an internship programme.
What is the mission of the internship programme?
Fair Shot's Hospitality Supported Internship Programme provides 880 hours of training and support for young adults (aged 16-24) with learning disabilities and/or autism, enabling them to become confident and highly skilled baristas and cafe assistants. Graduates gain real-life work experience and receive qualifications, such as the Speciality Coffee Qualification and Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, to transition smoothly into their next job with the assistance of employment partners.
How can you help?
Help GoCardless Access achieve our goal of getting to £1,000 in donations so Fair Shot can qualify to receive a matching gift! Thereby doubling the value of your support. We need to hit this target before 11 July!
