Story
Why are we doing this?
Family and friends are taking part in a collection of events in memory of Husband, Dad, Grandad, Brother and friend, Gary Webber, who sadly passed away in January 2024, after receiving a Melanoma diagnosis in 2020.
Event Dates:
22nd April 2024- Skydive
18th May 2024- Group Mud Run Challenge
21st July 2024- Group London to Southend Bike Ride (85km)
As a keen football enthusiast, manager and passionate lifelong Crystal Palace fan, we are committed to working together to raise funds for "Gazza's Legacy."
What do we want to achieve:
We are raising money for the Melanoma Fund; a charity that empowers active lifestyles by preventing skin cancer. As part of their work in sports and outdoor recreation, they are rolling out a football inspired awareness drive, working in partnership with Kent FA to promote sun safety among youth players and coaches this summer.
Your donations allow the Melanoma Fund to continue to raise awareness, educate and prevent all types of skin cancer in sport and outdoor recreation. Specifically, initial funding raised for Gazza's Legacy has kick started this campaign to raise awareness and will also provide sunscreen dispensers for youth players in Kent tournaments this summer. With just one sunburn doubling the risk of melanoma in later life, this is a fantastic legacy to Gary and one he would have been proud to inspire.
