An evening of film, music and discussion to raise funds for Palestinians affected by Israel's war on Gaza.

Mo’min Swaitat (Majazz Project / Palestine Sound Archive) is a London-based Palestinian Bedouin actor, filmmaker, music producer, DJ and archivist from Jenin in the occupied West Bank. He will join us over Zoom to discuss his practice and the role of culture as a means of resisting colonial violence.

Artist, dancer and activist, Nada Shawa, is based in Edinburgh and has worked extensively in the field of refugee support, and human rights, including disability rights across Scotland. Originally from Gaza, she will be sharing poems recorded especially for Friday night's fundraiser.

A selection of short films will be screened throughout the event, focusing on the lives of artists in Palestine.

Live music for the evening is provided by local legends Willie Campbell, DC Macmillan and Stephen Drummond of the Tumbling Souls alongside a solo performance from multi-instrumentalist Alastair Caplin who will be performing new material on the night.
