Story
UPDATE: I started my alternative swim challenge on 15th November to swim in the pool the length of the English Channel by 4th Jan 2024, due to work and Christmas Bank Holidays there will be limited days that I can get to the pool so this is really going to challenge me to motivate myself to fit in a swim whenever I can (lunchtimes/ days off etc).
UPDATE: Due to injury I have had to pull out of the London to Brigton Challenge, Karen will still be taking on the whole 100k and your sponsorshiip will still be coming to RSPCA Ashley Heath. I am now looking at doing a swim challenge and swimming the length of The English Channel in the pool over a 2 month period.
I am competing in the 2nd day of the London to Brighton Ultra Challenge. This involves me starting at Crawley and completing 44k (27.3 miles) off road and across the South Downs to finish in Brighton. I will be joining my friend Karen who is doing the full 100K 2 day challenge .
This is going to be a huge and tough challenge for me (and I am a little scared). Being overweight, having to cover a large distance including negotiating numerous ascents and descents this could very well break me and I anticipate suffering ahead. So far I have only managed to get my training up to 12 miles. I am however, determined to complete this challenge and raise funds to help animals that have suffered.
I'm raising money for the RSPCA Ashley Heath Animal Centre who support the work of the RSPCA Inspectorate. Your support will help them to be able to continue the vital work of rescuing animals from cruelty and neglect, providing medical and daily care, rehabilitation and rehoming.
Any donations you can give to support my fundraising would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
