Marathon Men for Brain Tumour Research

Milton Keynes Marathon · 5 May 2025
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. This is unacceptable!
A team of “slightly” overweight, grey, balding and well past our sell by date from Ampthill are fundraising for Brain Tumour Research as they are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK. Please help me fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
Gavin White one of the runners, was diagnosed with a Stage 4 GMB Brain Tumour in August 2023. After having the tumour removed at Addenbrooks Cambridge in September 2023, followed by Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and a trail drug Gavin has completed several challenges including the Brain Tumour Research annual 10k walk of hope in late September 2023 to the 3 Peaks Challenge in June 2024. Over that time Gavin and is wide network of fundraisers raised close to £40k for the charity.
2025 and we go again!!
7 of us have set a challenge of running the MK Marathon on the 5th May 2025. There are also several others taking part in the MK Half Marathon and 5k races.
We desperately need your help to raise as much money as we can for this fantastic charity. The majority of the charity funds goes directly into clinical research centres, to help find a cure for these terrible tumours.
