Story
The NSPCC is the leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands.
This walk links key points from the life of St Cuthbert starting in Melrose in Scotland coming down into England through Jedburgh and across through the top of the Cheviot's to Wooler and Fenwick. Then over to Holy Island across the Sands on 12th and finally up the coast to Berwick on 13th.
It isn't a faith based walk though Cuthbert did much for his communities in the 53 years of his life which ended in 687 on the Farne Islands. His legacy several hundred years later, saw the building of Durham Cathedral around his relics.
The walk will take seven days and limited place to camp mean that Darcy and I can only do that on some nights, so we will be more comfortable than we expected. We will probably walk more than 80 miles, so really looking forward to the experience. Darcy will carry her own food and kit as she did last year over eight days on our Hadrian's Wall walk.
Honeypot Creative Media, my company links with NSPCC as our charity, and we hope to be able to raise money for them and profile, at a time when their work is still so needed across the UK.
