On August 16th, 2023, our lives were turned upside down when at aged just 11, one of our children, Joshua, was diagnosed with cancer. He was diagnosed with an aggressive lymphoma and required intensive treatment and hospitalisation for 4 months.

The family received, and continue to receive invaluable support from The Candlelighters Trust. This amazing Yorkshire charity has supported all the family through this most challenging of times. The cancer family and community is one you never wish to be part of, but is truly amazing in its advice and support when you have the misfortune to belong within. .

This 1000 Hole Challenge event is now being organised by Louka, his twin brother, who wants to do his bit to raise money and show his gratitude for all the support we have received from Candlelighters. Louka (and Dad) are members at Sand Moor Golf Club, Alwoodley, Leeds. Since hearing the news about Joshua (who has also participated in golf events at the club) PGA professional, Glen , has been tremendous. He was keen to call upon the vibrant junior section to help raise funds for the charity.

The challenge requires each junior member to complete 54, 36 or fewer holes, dependent on age, ability and experience, in a 12 hour period. We are asking people to donate per hole they complete on the day.
