Taking on the Welsh 3000s Challenge for Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue

Welsh 3000s Challenge · 3 May 2025
Hi everyone
Thanks for taking a look at our sponsor page.
Next month, we’re completing the Welsh 3000s as a team. We all met through our shared love of the mountains and have become good friends ever since.
The challenge is to hike to the top of all 15 mountains over 3000ft within the time of 24 hours. The length is about 24 miles with added distance from the start point and down to the finish which can take it up to 30 miles.
We’re really grateful to have come together as a group of friends to do this. Taking part in the challenge are Martin Cuddy, Julian Profitt, Danielle Davies, and Abbie Mann. Our team on the ground making sure we get supplies is Sam Norton who'll be providing much needed supplies for us along the way.
Whilst this is a personal challenge for us, we wanted to raise some money for charity whilst we do it.
If you know us, you'll know we spend lots of our free time in the mountains and hills of the Ogwen Valley so our chosen charity was easy to select.
Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation (OVMRO), or Sefydliad Achub Mynydd Dyffryn Ogwen as they are known in the native Welsh language, is a voluntary mountain rescue team responding to incidents in the mountains and valleys surrounding the Ogwen Valley, Glyderau, and Carneddau mountain ranges and surrounding area in northern Snowdonia. They are on-call 24 hours a day, throughout the year.
We all want to be safe in the mountains doing the thing we love and if it wasn't for volunteer teams like mountain rescue, that may not be possible.
If you've read this far, thank you. We’d really love your sponsorship so that this much needed cause can continue to keep us all safe whilst we have fun in the mountains.
