Story
Cancer is an absolute b***tard and we all need to do whatever we can to try to fight against this terrible disease. Research ultimately will find the cure for cancer and we need to support Charities and organisations determined to support those suffering with cancer. Having experienced my own battle with cancer, I can safely say that I would not wish this on anyone else. So let’s do something about it!
Cancer focus is a first class charity, dedicated to raising funds to support research into cancer treatments. I have decided to do my bit, supported by my daughter Jordyn and her fiancé Rhys. We are going to take on the challenge of climbing the Twin Peaks in the Mournes, namely Slieve Donald and Slieve Commedagh, on the 15th June, which is in support of cancer focus. We have set a target to raise £500 and would ask for your support in raising these funds. Anything you can afford to give would be greatly appreciated. All of the money raised goes towards cancer focus and their mission to support people in NI, who are diagnosed with cancer. All donations towards this worthwhile cause, can be made through our just giving page and we thank you in advance for any donation you wish to make.
By supporting us in this endeavour the following amounts could have such a difference to many peoples lives:
* By raising £50 you could pay for a Bra Fitting Appointment supporting a local woman through her cancer journey
* By raising £200 you could pay for 4 hours of Family Support helping families through a diagnosis of cancer or a loss of a loved one
* By raising £480 you could pay for 6 Counselling Sessions which are a lifeline for local cancer patients of all ages
* By raising £2,000 you could pay for a Wellness Retreat for up to 20 cancer patients, this offers a place of sanctuary away from treatment and a place to heal and rest
Wish us luck and let’s see if we can raise some worthwhile capital for all those suffering with cancer.
Little bit about Cancer Focus:
Every year we support over 6,000 local people affected by cancer and, with 1 in 2 of us predicted to be affected by cancer in our lifetime, your donation will help us to continue providing our services to all those who require our support now and in the future. As a local charity, we are 90% dependent on donations so your donation will help us to continue our vital work.
