Story
Medical Mission to Uganda
In January (2024) we are taking a team to Naomi-Hub to run a medical camp. We will be serving the community living in the villages close to our teaching Hub for single mums.
The volunteer team includes members of Immanuel Church in Chichester, along with Nurses and other medical professionals from St Richard's Hospital, also in Chichester.
There is no National Health Service in Uganda; unless you have the money to pay for treatment, or simple medication, becoming even mildly ill may end up being a death sentence. Our mums here typically earn £1 a day - that’s not enough to buy food for their families, let alone medication.
The medical camp expect to treat 1000 patients a day - that's a lot of people!
The team are paying all their own travel costs - every penny you give will go towards the costs of the mission, primarily towards the cost of medication.
Please help us raise £9,000 to cover the costs of running the medical camp.
Nimlet and myself will be hiking the South Dows Way in stages all the way from Chichester to Eastbourne in five sections. Please come and keep us company on any (or all) of the stages!
