Story
In October 2023, my dad, Pete, was diagnosed with lung cancer.
It was a challenging time for the whole family, but care and treatment was swift. In January, he had the cancer removed in a keyhole procedure, and a couple of weeks later, he got the all-clear.
30 years ago, it's likely he wouldn't have got such swift and effective action. There have been huge advances in treatment, and that is partly due to charities such as Cancer Research UK and their efforts.
Dad decided he wanted to do something to say thank you, and so I've offered to help him organise this walk.
We plan on setting off from The Angel in Bardney at 11am on September 1st, and walking a seven mile route to Wragby, through the back roads.
We invite people to join us, to share this link far and wide, and help raise as much money as we can for Cancer Research.
More details can be found on the event page on Facebook, and if you wish to walk and raise for a different cancer charity, then please join the event and do so.
