Story
Millport is a magical place, beautiful, peaceful a place of nostalgia. One of the things that makes it so great is its community 1400 people who are proud of their island and rightly so.
Our mission is to save this historic building and turn it into a vibrant and sustainable community asset. This will be run by the community, for the community and there is widespread support for this project.
The Town Hall was closed in 2016 due to lack of basic maintenance and repair. This had a big impact on groups who used this building and since then the Island has been struggling with the lack of a suitable large venue.
The people of Millport have always been very generous in supporting my previous charity fundraising events, they have been the first to put their hands in their pockets and to give me words of encouragement, so I feel it would be nice to try to raise some funds to give something back to them.
To that end around about Easter 2023 I intend to cover 50 miles around the island by 5 different methods, I will cycle, around the island, walk/jog to the top of the island, kayak around Millport bay and paddle board and swim to the Eilans.
Please consider supporting the renovation of Millport town Hall!
