Story
Welcome to our fundraising page, which is to raise funds & awareness for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).
Our focal point / challenge for the fundraising is a hike up Helvellyn via - Striding Edge (England’s 3rd highest mountain)
This hike & charity event is in the memory of Allan Worswick who is pictured, Allan Worswick is the much missed father of our good friend Neil Worswick, Allan sadly succumbed to MND in 2004, so 2024 marks the 20th anniversary of his passing, & the hike itself will be held on 6th July, which would be 2 days after what have been Allan’s 80th birthday.
I am 60 on the 10th August and am fortunate to still have my father with us who by unbelievable co-incidence will be 80 on the 4th July. I will celebrate this with my good friend Neil and TeamMND as I know Alan would have wanted.
Allan like his son Neil now, was a farmer in the Lancashire hills of Worsthorne, nr Burnley. A good proud farmer earning his keep for the family & a tradition that carries on still now. Sadly in his 60th year Allan was lost to the cruel illness of MND & we are proud to do this in his memory in behalf of our good friend Neil.
In the year of Allan passing in 2004, his son Neil ran the London Marathon to raise funds for the same charity, and we as a team hope to help raise as much funds & awareness as possible, in the memory of Allan Worswick.
Please donate & share where possible, many small differences will ultimately combine to make a big difference.
