#TeamWinchesterHospice are going on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to trek 50km across the Moroccan Sahara Desert! On 6 November, our team will head out for six days to make their way across sand dunes, sun-baked plains and ancient river beds!

Story

On 14th February 2024 we lost our beloved best friend Olivia 'Widge' Merritt to cancer. Over the four months she was in Winchester Hospice care she, and her family including her three yoing children, and friends experienced the most extraordinary care and support which made an awful experience bearable. We cannot thank them enough for their compassion.

On 6th November we are fulfilling one of our last promises to our friend: that we would join hospice nurses and volunteers to trek for 6 days across the desert, walking in her memory to raise money so that as many other people as possible can benefit from this sort of care and support at the time they need it most.

Winchester Hospice is the only adult hospice in Winchester. Every donation helps the specialist team at Winchester Hospice to provide palliative and end of life care to those with life-limiting illness in and around Winchester. With your support, we can develop and grow these vital services to be there for even more families in our city both now and for years to come.

Thank you for any donations you can give and for supporting this charity with us.
