Story
I'm taking part in this walk to get as many miles under my 'feet' as possible in support of one of my oldest and dearest friends, Lou.
As a team with some other amazing friends, we are walking 100 miles in 30 days for the bone and soft tissue cancer charity Sarcoma UK.
We’ve all been friends for 30 years and have seen Lou navigate her cancer journey since 2016 with unbelievable courage and strength... there are no words to describe the force that is 'our Lou' .
We are doing this as a team to raise awareness, money and to continue walking side by side, holding hands and being each others motivation.
Lou's back story …
Lou has Leiomyosarcoma. Back in 2016 it started as a soft tissue sarcoma wrapped around her kidney and now is in her bones too. It has metastasised in her liver and lungs and there is no longer a cure for her. Lou undergoes palliative chemo treatment every 3 weeks and this is on going as long as the chemo stops the tumours from growing.
Lou will also be walking too alongside her 2 rounds of chemo within the 30 days…. As I said, she is a 'force'!
If you can donate any amount at all, it will help in the fight against this horrible disease.
Thank you.
