Story
Hello & thank you for visiting my page!
I am raising funds for the Scottish Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) by taking part in the Etape Caledonia (135 km) & Ride the North (160 km) cycle events - in memory of my mum, Jean. She couldn't ride a bike but came along to Pitlochry to see me roll around previous Etape Caledonia races.
I am not really a cyclist but my knees/feet won't let me be a happy runner anymore, so here I am - a fully paid up member of the lycra club. At least there will be a benefit from me pouring myself into my cycle gear come May 12th & August 24th 2024 :)
SCAA is a fantastic organisation. I have visited its Aberdeen base (Helimed 79) & have seen for myself what amazing service it provides. The experienced & dedicated crews really do enable life saving, pre-hospital care to be accessed by anyone & everyone who may need it here in Scotland. As detailed below - SCAA is 100% funded by charity donations which seems crazy but is true, so many, many, many thanks in advance for any donations towards my upcoming chafe fest cycle events.
Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance is Scotland’s only charity-funded air ambulance service. We rely on public support to keep flying and responding to time-critical emergencies wherever they occur in Scotland. From our bases in Perth and Aberdeen we can reach 90% of Scotland’s population within 25 minutes, providing a vital lifeline to communities all over the country. Our mission is to deliver more care, more quickly, to more people across Scotland - but we can only keep flying and saving lives with your support.
