Story

According to numerous sources I might need my sanity checked but on Sunday 29th September 2024, I'll be running the Berlin Marathon as part of the Dementia UK team.

My fabulous grandmother Winnie Salkeld was diagnosed with dementia when I was quite young and to watch this take hold of such a vibrant person and to also see the effects of this on the wider family is not something I would wish upon anyone.

Dementia is a growing health crisis - a truly scary statistic is that someone in the UK develops dementia every three minutes. So in memory of Winnie, I've decided to put myself in the pain cave and run 42 km to support the wonderful work that Dementia UK who focus on providing specialist dementia support to families who are impacted by dementia are doing.

I would be incredibly grateful for any donations towards Dementia UK, no matter how big or small.
