Story
Meet Hannah, an amazing young girl who has defied all odds since the day she was born to be here today. The hurdles in Hannah’s early life have been enormous, and continue, but she has shown that, for her, they are not insurmountable. As one of triplets born three months premature, Hannah's journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. At three days old, Hannah faced a serious brain bleed, requiring two surgeries. The resulting cerebral palsy means that, Hannah experiences significant impairment on her right side. She navigates the challenges of being wheelchair-bound, suffering with epilepsy, reduced sight and communicating non-verbally. Her daily life includes reliance on a peg feed and a colostomy bag. Hannah attends a specialised school offering crucial 1-1 support and integrated therapy care plans, including intensive physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, and occupational therapy to help with her delayed development. At home, Hannah’s parents continue to follow all these programmes to help aid Hannah’s progress as much as possible.
Enter the Innowalk – an amazing piece of equipment Hannah is currently trialling that is vital for the healthy development of her muscles. The Innowalk frees Hannah to move and walk with full support. In addition, this equipment aids her weight-bearing and stretching, resulting in a dramatic improvement in overall muscle tone. While Hannah may never walk unaided, the Innowalk represents hope. The Innowalk has already made a great impact on Hannah's physical well-being and grants her a sense of independence she has not experienced before. Through her determination, Hannah has already overcome many obstacles and her parents believe that the Innowalk is the key to overcoming even more and fulfilling her true potential.
But it does not come cheap. Hannah’s parents have already joined forces with their respective employers to raise the £30,000 to transform this trial into a lasting source of assistance for Hannah. Your support holds the power to significantly contribute to breaking barriers for Hannah, creating a brighter future for her, and enabling her to embrace life to the fullest.
