Story
The Police Treatment Centres is a registered Charity providing treatment and support, including intensive, police-specific, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, for injured and ill Police Officers, Retired Officers, and Police Staff.
Police Officers are very often the first responders to serious accidents and dangerous incidents, dealing with death, distress and aggression. They have to See and hear things that other members of the public would simply not be able to cope with. The Police Treatment Centres provide police specific treatment for any on or off duty injury. Whether it is a physical injury, or stress, depression, anxiety related, treatment is provided to help them recover and aid their return back to work.
Around 4000 members of the Police Family visit one of the two Treatment Centers annually, either at St Andrews in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, or Castlebrae in Auchterarder, Perthshire. The yearly cost of operating both centers is approximately £6.5 million and continues to increase.
So this year our Harrogate PTC staff are taking on The Great Knaresborough Bed Race to raise money for The Police Treatment Centres. As staff we see first hand how crucial the charity is for the police family. The Great Knaresborough Bed Race is a thrilling event that combines athleticism, creativity, and a whole lot of fun. The team from Harrogate PTC are excited to be apart of this years Bed Race. The work that this charity does is truly invaluable, providing essential care and support to members of the police family when they need it most! Please donate whatever you can and support our staff!
