Friends of Ferals (FoF) are a small but very dedicated group of volunteers who are committed to helping control and monitor the feral cat population in and around Sheffield. They are self funded and provide neutering, blood testing and veterinary care for cats. Thousands of feral cats live in derelict factories, cemeteries, alleyways, gardens and general outdoor spaces in Sheffield. They are the offspring of lost or abandoned domestic cats and left un-neutered have reached epidemic numbers.

Many of you will have read about the devastating flooding in Catcliffe, Sheffield this weekend (sadly some of you will have been affected too). This is where a FoF unit is and heartbreakingly everything is ruined: 8 years worth of specialist equipment, expensive medication, food, washer, heaters and comforts for the cats. **Fortunately all the cats and kittens were moved into foster homes before it was too late**.

FoF are entirely dependant on donations and this is why we are reaching out in this time of need. We know times are hard but every penny FoF receive is spent on cats in crisis. And right now the cats need us more than ever.

FURTHER UPDATE: Day 1 of the clean up has started. And it comes with a huge (but very sensible) decision for the future of FoF...please be assured all money raised will go towards the future of the cats lucky enough to have FOF looking out for them 😻 We can not thank each and every one of you enough. MOST RECENT UPDATE: We are overwhelmed by people's generosity so far, and so very grateful - achieving the original ambitious target and more! However, more and more cats are still in need - as a result of the flood and how the unit is no longer fit to home the cats. FoF are now reliant on foster homes so the money donated is being used towards to cost of these, as cats and kittens are being taken in every day. This is why we are still keeping this page going.
