Freyja June Higgs was born sleeping at 25 weeks gestation, in April 2024. Her passing was a complete shock after an otherwise low-risk and uneventful pregnancy.

William Ronnie Higgs was born sleeping at 20 weeks gestation, in November 2024. Again, his passing came with no warning or signs.

The cooling cots gifted to the hospitals where Freyja & William were born meant their parents and grandparents got to spend time with each of them, making memories that have carried them through some very tough times since. This page is to collect money from various challenges that Freyja’s friends and family take part in, to hopefully raise enough money to gift a cooling cot to another hospital. This will have a direct impact on many future families that go through the life changing tragedy of losing a baby.

About the charity - The Abi Cooling Cot is a refrigerated unit that allows families to spend more time with their deceased baby than would otherwise be possible. The cooling cot helps parents to bond with their baby and aids the grieving process. The cooling cot is supplied by Abigail's Footsteps in partnership with The Bond Group . We have delivered cots to over 100 hospitals and hospices in the UK and Ireland so far. It is our mission to encourage all bereavement suites in hospitals to have at least two cooling cots.
