A fantastic cause to be running for.

Being deaf and playing sport are both a huge part of my identity. So I am incredibly proud to have a crack at running the London Marathon 2025 to raise funds for UK Deaf Sport to send Team GB to the Tokyo Deaflympics 2025.

Unlike Olympics or Paralympics, elite deaf athletes receive no Government funding. Zero - not a single penny. There is a widely held misconception that deaf people compete in the Paralympics, but they don’t unless they have another recognised impairment.

Despite the fact that there are 12 million people in the UK with some form of deafness (1 in 6 people), there is just simply no state funding for deaf athletes or for talent pathways. Its bonkers.

So deaf athletes must raise their own funding for every aspect of their training, equipment and competition in order to compete at the Games. This is a huge challenge for them as not only are they in full-time education or holding down full-time jobs, they are also training.

Any donations you can contribute, however teeny it may be, would be a huge help towards paying for their flights, accommodation, preparations, food, kit and technical support.
