Story
Thank you! We are the #1 fundraisers of over 2,700 for the American Heart Association. We’ve raised almost twice as much as the top team—all in memory of Jess and to give our kids a safer future.
Since losing Jess to a heart attack in 2022, I’ve only been on a bike a couple of times. We used to love riding together, from mountain biking in Colorado to riding across Maryland to raise money for cancer research. But I just haven’t had it in me to get back in the saddle regularly.
But our daughter, who rides almost daily, recently promised to get me back on the bike, and I can’t turn her down.
It’s time to get rolling again.
I'm biking 100 miles in June to help the American Heart Association work to prevent losses like the one I and our kids suffered. I still am having trouble finding it in me to get on the bike, and I have even less motivation for fundraising, even for a cause as close to my heart as this one will always be.
So, if you can, I hope you consider making a donation because every little bit helps. And if you want to share this with others who knew Jess, please do. Whether or not you donate, I thank you for sparing a thought for Jess and for our kids. Your support—the support of Jess’ loved ones, her community, her village—has been essential to the kids and me and we appreciate it deeply.
