Story
On January 2nd, I intend to run 100 miles (160 kilometres) around my hometown of Lossiemouth. Lossie isn't that big so I shall be doing laps of the 5k ring road (around 33 laps of the town). Starting at 4am, it will ideally take me less than 20 hours and I shall be finished by midnight. I would also like to invited anyone who runs to join me on any part of the run, whether it be 1 or 10 laps.
The reason I have chosen to fundraise for the Dementia Research Centre is my dear friend Mr Michael Dunbar. Mikey started showing signs of short term memory loss in 2022. After a number of incorrect diagnosis, he was admitted to Ninewells hospital in October 2023 for extensive investigation. In March 2024 at just 33 years old, he was diagnosed with Early Onset Familial Alzheimers. Seeing how much this disease has effected him over the past year has been heartbreaking for us as his pals as it has been for his wonderful family; Id love to raise as much money as possible into finding a cure for this awful disease.
