Story
Buffalo State's Fashion and Textile Technology Department wants to make the global fashion industry a more diverse and inclusive place. We need your help to do it.
In conjunction with the 2021 Runway fashion show "History Retailored," which revisits decades of work by accomplished Black designers through a social justice lens we are excited to announce a new scholarship fund specifically for Black fashion students.
The Black Fashion Scholarship's mission is to foster equity and inclusion within the fashion industry by supporting promising students of Black, African-American, or African descent who are committed to creating a more equitable society.
There is still so much work to do to combat systemic racism in the fashion world, but donors like you open doors for talented Black students to succeed.
Please give to the Black Fashion Scholarship today!
Dear Friends: We all had ups and downs this year, yet time does not stop and so, we go on. Last year together, we raised over $8K for the Black Fashion Scholarship Program at Buffalo State College. This year, I would like to invite you to support this cause that is very close to my heart. With your support, we can make a difference in the career of one or more underrepresented students. Follow the link and contribute what you feel is comfortable.
One of the donors from my page will be randomly selected to receive a painting from my personal collection created by Markenzy Julius Cesar who will be presenting his work at Art Basel Miami this year. In addition, for every $100 dollars that you donate, you will receive a VIP pass for the 2nd Annual Runway Fashion Show: Basquiat meets Bergdorf & Goodman 2022 to be held at BAM (02/18/2023, 19:00hrs). Food this year will be provided by Lago2010.
