Francis and Helena Madden set off on Palm Sunday on a pilgrim journey of over 2000km from Vézelay in France to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. They are cycling on a tandem with a trailer, following as closely as possible the Way of St. James, an ancient Christian pilgrimage route, whilst also raising awareness of and funds for the work of the local charity "Stories of Hope and Home”.

Having now reached the Navarrese Pyrenees, we’ve covered 1150 km of the route through France and over the border into Spain.
