Hackney Half Marathon 2025
Campaign by CoppaFeel! (RCN 1132366)
A team of incredible CoppaFeel! runners are taking on the Hackney Half Marathon on 18th May 2025 to end the late detection of breast cancer.

Story

Hello!

I have signed up to run the Hackney Half Marathon after the tragic passing of my beautiful Nana.

Jeanie was a force of energy whose joy felt like it's kept the world spinning. Despite being diagnosed with breast cancer herself 35 years ago, she embraced life with so much courage and bravery. She had many wonderful years in remission but sadly, she was diagnosed with signficant cancer in 2024 and we lost her in December.

Nana loved to help and support those around her. She always used learnings of her own experiences to help others. And CoppaFeel embodies just that.

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and are on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest.

They educate people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests regularly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves. They do this because when diagnosed early and accurately, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection truly can save lives.
