On April 27th I’ll be running the Manchester Marathon in support of Cancer Research and my lovely Dad’s ongoing fight with lung cancer.

I’ll be the first to admit that when I was given the news of the dreaded ‘C’ word, I instantly thought the worst. However, these past few years since my Dad’s diagnosis, I’ve learned we no longer need to be as afraid of cancer. Thanks to ongoing fundraising efforts, there’s more funding than ever for new research and medicines, which are continuing to help treat my Dad and millions of others.

However, the sad reality is that cancer still affects 1 in 3 of us, and the chances are that almost everyone reading this will have had someone close to them suffer from the disease.

I would be eternally grateful for any donations, no matter how small, for this wonderful charity and to help motivate me on what will inevitably be a grey and rainy day in Manchester!
