Story
This year I'll be running twice for SafeLives - starting with the British Asics 10k on Sunday 9 July, followed by The Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 8 October.
When I last ran a 10k (a long time ago…) I thought that was probably about as far as I ever wanted to run in one go. But the time has come to push myself just a little bit further than that (a teeny bit over double, eek).
At SafeLives I work with survivors of domestic abuse who constantly amaze me with their strength and determination to change things for others who are going through what they did. Running a half marathon is nothing in comparison, but it's a big challenge for me, so my 10k to half marathon challenge is my small contribution to ending domestic abuse.
SafeLives is a UK charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse, for good. No one should live in fear. It is not acceptable, not inevitable, and with your help we can make it stop. Every year, over two million people in the UK experience domestic abuse. Not one of them should have to wait until they're in crisis before we pay attention. We believe that domestic abuse can be stopped. Stopped before it starts. Stopped before it ruins lives. Your donation will help us change lives and make families across the UK safe and well - Thank you for your support. Much love xxx
