In memory of Rachel Pope
Our St Catherine's Hospice heroes will take on a once in a lifetime challenge and trek over 40 miles to reach Petra, one of the seven new Wonders of The World.

Story

This is a charity very close to myself and my family. When we lost my sister Rachel in July 2023, St Catherine’s was the constant that helped to provide a sense of comfort within the hardest of circumstances. They gave the most exceptional care to Rachel throughout her final days, something I will be forever grateful for.

They also gave Rachel the gift of peace.

Rachel was the most selfless and caring wife, mum, daughter, sister and friend who touched so many lives and will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to have known her.

This Trek to Petra is a deeply personal challenge, a way of honouring Rachel’s memory and raising vital funds for St Catherine’s Hospice. So if needed, St Catherine’s Hospice is there when you or your loved ones absolutely need them to be.

100% of all donations will go to St Catherine’s Hospice as we are self funding the trek.

St Catherine's Hospice cares for local people at the end of their lives in Surrey and Sussex, and supports those closest to them. Every step taken by our hospice heroes on their journey to Petra will help the hospice be there for local people and those close to them when life comes full circle.

Our Trek to Petra will take our team on an adventure following an ancient Bedouin migration route to Petra, experiencing some of the most spectacular natural scenery in Jordan along their journey. This trek is voted by National Geographic as one of the worlds best hikes and it is growing a reputation as the Inca Trail of the Middle East. Our team will be covering up to 10 miles a day over 5 consecutive days of walking and challenging terrain.

Please support our trekkers and help the hospice be there for local people and those close to them when life comes full circle.
