Story
I'm running the 2025 London Marathon (27/04/2025) to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) in memory of my Dad, who passed away from MND on 1st April 2024. Dad's diagnosis in May 2023 turned our world upside down, but his strength and resilience throughout motivated me to take action. The inspiration to take action, however, began when he ran the 2012 London Marathon for the Stroke Association in memory of his Father. Before he passed away, I promised him I would follow in his literal footsteps by also running the London Marathon, and I'm determined to keep that promise.
As many of you know, Dad's impact on the community was (and continues to be) profound, from his leadership in local football, to his musical talents and public service career through Border Force. Running the marathon for MNDA not only honours his memory but also supports vital research and services for those affected by this cruel disease. By running this marathon, I aim to contribute to the incredible work the MNDA does and honour the legacy of a remarkable man who always had time for others. Your support will make a real difference in the fight against MND.
Thank you.
