Lauren's Doing What?
A few weeks back at the Forbes Burton office, we got together for some BLUE SKY thinking to choose an event to raise money for St Andrew’s Hospice. Lauren, her judgement CLOUDED somewhat, DROPPED in and volunteered herself for a sponsored skydive.
The ATMOSPHERE in the office immediately SOARED, but we couldn’t help but worry that Lauren hadn’t fully understood the GRAVITY of her daring pledge. This will be no PLANE old fundraising stunt after all.
After reaching 15,000ft, she will spend one minute in freefall, reaching a terminal velocity of 120mph as she hurtles toward the ground.
Despite this AIR of concern amongst her colleagues, Lauren remains undeterred, even choosing a summer date to get this all done before the FALL. Anybody wishing to donate can simply ‘CHUTE us their details via this JustGiving page.
St Andrew's Hospice
The hospice was chosen after Lauren had heard a colleague talk about how well his father had been cared for there before he passed.
Sadly, the elderly can often be treated like a hinderance, and once dementia takes hold, even some care homes don’t seem to treat them like people anymore. This made her colleague even more grateful of St Andrew’s Hospice’s efforts to provide a comfortable and dignified stay for his father’s final days. The hospice had handled his dad’s last moments with the same attention and importance that his own family had.
Many of us will eventually visit the hospice with loved ones, or maybe even ourselves. As such a source of comfort, I’d hate to think of a future without this help for other families. We have a wonderful resource in this area, and your donations help it to continue providing the important service it does.
Please give as much as you can to support such an amazing organisation. Every pound received makes a huge difference to those facing their last moments.
