Story
On the 8th of December, I will be taking part in the Beatson Cancer Charity run to raise funds for the incredible team of doctors and nurses that not only work tirelessly saving lives, but also offer an amazing support system for families battling cancer.
Our story
In August 2024, my dad was diagnosed with stage 3 squamous cell carcinoma.
My dad’s fight against cancer is currently in progress; he has completed his course of treatment and is now taking some well needed time to rest.
This news hit our family like a truck, hearing the word cancer is never easy, especially involving a loved one, but what makes it that little more challenging, is the fact that it’s your own dad.
I saw my dad struggle but I never saw him give up; his strength and resilience are what inspires me each day of life. You will be forever my role model.
I am beyond proud of you, dad. You have pushed through not only a strenuous physical battle, but also an emotionally exhausting mental battle too. You have remained full of your witty remarks and have still kept your infectious smile throughout your arduous journey, and that is truly commendable.
Ultimately, there is no desired target for this fundraiser. However, any donations will be gratefully received with a warm heart from the Beatson Cancer Hospital.
If you would like to sponsor me in this race and donate to an amazing charity (every penny truly counts!) then all details are below. Nonetheless, any support, love and messages are all so hugely appreciated.
Special Mentions:
🤍My mum
🤍My brother
🤍My dad for being so strong
**This race is also an honourable tribute to my late grandad Hughie Malarkey who passed away from cancer and is sorely missed every day.**
