Story

On the 6th April this year, I will be running my first Half Marathon to raise funds for Dementia UK.

In 2020, my Grandad, Bob Browning, was diagnosed with dementia. What began as small signs of forgetfulness—like putting tea bags in the kettle instead of a mug, or mixing up names— has progressed into a condition that now requires constant care and supervision.

Thanks to the support of Dementia UK, my family were able to recognise the early signs of the disease and learn how to manage it, helping to slow its devastating effects. (One of which was getting our lovely pup, Bonnie, who’s name Bob still remembers.)

Though my Grandad may no longer remember who I am, I’ll be running this race for him, for those living with dementia, and for all the families watching their loved ones struggle with this condition.

Thank you in advance for any donations - they are all incredibly appreciated.
