Story
I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in August 2025 to raise money for Student Minds. Student Minds is a charity that works with students to improve university communities so that every student can get the mental health support that they need. They support students to develop the confidence and skills to look after their mental health, support their peers and create change. They also work collaboratively with institutions, students’ unions and other organisations involved in higher education, supporting them to take a whole-university approach to mental health.
Mount Kilimanjaro, located in Tanzania, is the highest peak in Africa, standing at 19,341 feet (5,895 meters) above sea level. This trip will have a huge positive impact for the charity – between us we will be raising around £40,000 for Student Minds which will make a massive difference. I will be running fundraising events to bring in donations while also ensuring that donors get something out of supporting the charity.
Donations raised up to my fundraising target will be split between Student Minds and supporting the costs of the challenge. Gift Aid on all donations and any funds raised above my target will go solely to Student Minds.
