Story
I'm Florence Belafonte, and I took up running during a challenging period in my life to help me stay focused. What started as a necessity soon blossomed into a passion and a renewed sense of purpose. As the saying goes, some people really start running when they hit 30, and I’m proud to be one of them. For me, running has evolved into more than just a physical activity—it’s become a symbol of resilience and commitment.
That's why I'm dedicating my runs to supporting BRC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals reclaim their lives from homelessness, mental illness, and addiction. Every step I take is in honor of the more than 3,000 vulnerable New Yorkers that BRC serves each day. Their work is truly transformative, providing not just a place to stay but a pathway to a brighter future. Through their essential services and compassionate community, BRC helps people rebuild their lives and find stability and hope.
Please join me in supporting BRC’s vital mission. Your contribution can make a real difference, helping to create a path from homelessness to home for those who need it most. Together, we can turn lives around and build a stronger, more inclusive community.
