Stewart's 2025 BCRT Activities

Raising awareness of primary bone cancer and much needed funds for the Bone Cancer Research Trust.

Story

Continuing to raise money for Bone Cancer Research Trust, in memory of my dad who passed away 11th November 2022 from bone cancer in his spine.

Events currently planned for 2025 -:

12th January 2025 - XCOM2 WOTC speedrun on Twitch. Challenged to complete in under 5 hours. If successful, my friend will donate £50. If I fail, I will donate £50

4th April - 6th April 2025 - 48 Hours, 15 Streamers, 1 Charity

Myself and 14 other Twitch streamers are coming together to do a 48hr charity stream relay, raising money for BCRT as part of Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Awareness Month.

7th June 2025 - Skeletons on Snowdon

My work team (Lee, Darren, George, Tom, Dan and Claire) are joining me in climbing Snowdon, all dressed as skeletons. Each of us will be highlighting bones in orange on our outfits, that fit each of the 4 primary types of bone cancer, and 4 lesser types. We will fire a bit of an advertising campaign on social media too, highlighting the type of cancer, symptoms, where is generally starts, and useful information - all curated by the BCRT team.

26th July 2025 - Yorkshire Three Peaks. Meant to do in 2023 but had foot injuries, so trying again in 2025. Joined by my wife and our friend, potentially with the BCRT team too.

30th August 2025 - Allan Fletcher Memorial Snooker Tournament III. Going from strength to strength with the tournament, back for a 3rd year and aiming to raise more than the last two years.

26th September 2025 - Molineux Walk+

On what would have been my dads 75th birthday, doing a 20mi+ walk from our family home, to Molineux stadium.

Why £4791 target? If I hit this, amount, it means without Gift Aid, we'll have raised exactly £15k for BCRT since starting to fundraise for them in December 2022.

The Bone Cancer Research Trust is dedicated to saving lives & improving outcomes for people affected by primary bone cancer. Despite being small, they fund more research projects exploring primary bone cancer than any other organisation. Other large UK cancer research charities do not prioritise bone cancer patients, in 2019 just 0.028% of their research spend went to bone cancer – not even close to 1%!

Last year alone, Bone Cancer Research Trust committed an incredible £807,824 to pioneering bone cancer research - to save lives!
