At Fir Tree we encourage children to think of others in our promotion of the values of empathy and inclusion. With this is mind, our school council approached us recently to suggest that pupils take part in a fundraising activity for a local charity. After lots of conversations, the school council opted to raise money for Style Acre, an Oxfordshire organisation whose work ranges from 24-hour care for those with complex learning, health and /or physical disabilities to a few hours support per week for those who live more independently.

Mindful that we always strive to promote healthy lifestyles, our school council then decided that the event should be a fun run. This will take place on Friday 2nd May – details on timings are below.

Children will be encouraged to run/jog/walk approximately 1 mile, which equates to 4 laps of our school field. Some children will manage a little more, and some a little less. It is not a race and participants are encouraged to move at their own pace. We really want this to be a community event, so you are warmly encouraged to join your child for this wonderful fundraising activity!
