Friends, Humans and Countrymen, lend me your ears…you heard correctly, I went with an ear joke! Let’s face it when you have ears as majestic as mine there are no holds barred. My name is Fiona, but if things go according to plan, soon you may refer to me as Your Grace. I am running for the Queen of the FKSPCA Parade of Paws! It is a fundraiser supporting the Florida Keys SPCA. With your support, I hope to raise much needed funds to help all animals in need, and hopefully in the process be crowned Queen.

It has been brought to my attention that I will be competing against any number of cute dogs and cats for the crown. There are those that believe a bunny stands little chance of ascending to the throne. I have even heard whispers in the royal court that some canine aficionados refer to me as an under-dog (pun intended). To those naysayers I have but one comment, “Let them eat carrots!” Sorry, sometimes I cannot help myself.

It is a well-kept secret among bunny parents that rabbits have a long history of ruling the home. Ask anyone with a bunny companion who the boss is and the answer will inevitably be the rabbit! I believe that it was in Henry IV part 2 that Shakespeare wrote “Uneasy is the head the wears the crown”, but I will gladly accept the responsibilities. I vow to be a benevolent queen. A queen who represents all her loyal subjects at the shelter: cats, dogs, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, and guinea pigs alike. All deserve to be treated as royalty! Throughout my campaign it will be my goal to educate the masses on how wonderful, (and obviously witty) rabbits are. We are amazing companions, even if I do say so myself.

I currently reside at the FKSPCA in Key West but anyone, anywhere can support my quest for the throne. It is my wish that both large and small donors will become involved in such an important cause. No donation is too small. Mine will be a “Hay-Roots” campaign! Once you get to know me you'll realize that even something small can make a very BIG difference!
