Walk in Her Name 2024 · 1 March 2024 to 31 March 2024 ·

This March, sign up to Walk in Her Name and walk 100km for every woman with ovarian cancer. Walk in her name isn’t just a challenge. It’s a community coming together, uniting for a world where every woman will survive ovarian cancer.

Story

Last March, for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, I walked 125km and, thanks to the generosity of friends and family, raised an absolutely incredible £4500 for Ovarian Cancer Action.

I've signed up to walk 100km again this March however, as people were so incredibly generous last year, I will sponsor myself this time (but if you missed it last year do feel free to join me!)

Unfortunately, my treatments have not been as successful as had been hoped which only goes to emphasise the importance of raising awareness of symptoms as there is currently no screening available.

So this is where you come in - please be aware of and/ or share these symptoms with anyone who has ovaries!

- Persistent stomach pain

- Persistent bloating

- Difficulty eating/feeling full more quickly

- Needing to wee more frequently

Don't forget CERVICAL SMEARS DO NOT DETECT OVARIAN CANCER!!

I'm hoping the weather improves soon (cos its still blooming cold up here) and I can get out in the fresh air and enjoy some early signs of Spring!!

We are the UK’s leading ovarian cancer research charity. In the UK only 1 in 3 women live more than 10 years after diagnosis. We are working to better prevent, treat and detect ovarian cancer, so that by 2032 at least half of women with ovarian cancer live for 10 years.
