Story

WHY PROSTATE CANCER UK?

Maybe, like me, Prostate Cancer UK is close to your heart as you know someone who has suffered from this horrible disease. Did you know:

- prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men (1 in 8 men will get it in the UK)

- one man dies in the UK from prostate cancer every 45 seconds

- most men with early prostate cancer don’t have any symptoms, delaying diagnosis

By sponsoring me you can help Prostate Cancer UK continue to make breakthroughs in diagnosis and treatments.  It could be you, a relative or a friend who benefits from life-saving advances!

THE SKYDIVE:

I expect this to be a mix of terror and exhilaration - I’m not sure which one will dominate on the day!

Terror - jumping out of a plane at 10,000ft (nearly 2 miles high); then free falling for 30 seconds at 125 mph (a 1 mile vertical drop)

Exhilaration - the parachute opens; 5 minutes of tranquillity floating down from 5000 feet with amazing views; landing safely under the control of my tandem instructor

My son has volunteered to join me on the skydive (thank you, Adam!) while Paul and Ruth will be supporting us with their feet firmly rooted to the ground!

NB Your donation will not be contributing to the cost of the jump as I have fully paid this myself.
