Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
My name is Rabee and I come from Sudan. I have been living in the UK since June 2023. I love living in Scotland and I am getting lots of opportunities to grow and learn. I am lucky to have amazing support from Fiona, my Foster Carer. I will be celebrating my 18th birthday in April and one of my presents is a skydive. How lucky am I!!!!. I have decided with encouragement from Fiona that I could use this as a fundraising event and raise money for shelter box. Shelter box are a charity close to my heart as my own family have received support from them whilst having to live in a refugee camp in Chad.
I left Darfur in Sudan age 15, I didn’t like the war and I was scared. It was hard to leave my family and it took me about 16 months to reach Scotland. The journey was very hard and some of it I had to walk. I was alone and scared. Fiona tells me an Angel brought me to her home.I have been so fortunate to get to where I am and have the experiences I have been given. I attend school and I am in 6th year at Stirling High. I do my English classes three times a week and I’m doing well with this. I play in Milton football team. This is great, they have been very supportive and welcoming. Not to mention I’m getting better skills and scoring lots of goals. I attend Scottish Sports futures and I’m gaining skills to enable me to run sports groups in communities for children and young people in a voluntary basis. I have also been doing some work with the children’s Parliament on children’s rights. I have been offered a place at Forth Valley College starting in August to do an ESOL course. I am so lucky to have the chance of a better life where I feel safe. Please sponsor me and help me to help the people of Sudan like my family who have lost their homes and live in fear every day. Let’s be the change we wish to see in the world together!
Thank you for your support
