I'm taking part in Kidney Care UK's MY #BloodyAmazingKidneys Challenge to help raise awareness of the 'Bloody Amazing' job our kidneys do filtering our blood and keeping all of our organs working properly.

Story

In 2024, Kidney Care UK launched its first ever national awareness campaign, celebrating our #BloodyAmazingKidneys.

As we continue this vital campaign into 2025 and beyond, we invite you to join us in making a difference. My first challenge is the Alderley Edge 10k in May but the intention is to run the Manchester Half Marathon on October 12, 2025, as part of my #BloodyAmazingKidneys Challenge.

My kidney function is currently eGFR 16 (March) and as soon as I hit 15, I will be moving towards a transplant with my younger sister, or my wife, as my living donor (thanks guys!) .Training will be inconsistent due to the nature of my symptoms- am still working full time so sometimes I have no energy left my the time I get home from school so this will be a genuine challenge for me!

Together, we can raise awareness and funds to support those affected by kidney disease.

I am aiming to raise £1,000 to help further this important cause. Your support can help us reach more people and provide essential resources for kidney health education and advocacy. Please consider donating or sharing this message with your network. Every contribution counts towards a healthier future for everyone.
