Story
My mum has had cancer for many years and is now receiving palliative care. During some of her many chemotherapy courses, she has experienced hair loss - a side effect that is experienced by many other recipients of chemotherapy. Hair loss can be distressing for cancer sufferers and can result in a loss of self esteem, especially in younger people and children. One of the means of helping sufferers cope with this is through the use of wigs made from donated human hair. For many this is a temporary measure until their natural hair regrows.. As a relative of someone affected by this issue and who also happens to have very long hair, I have decided to donate my hair to The Little Princess trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs for children.
However I would also like to use this as an opportunity to raise funds for The North Devon Hospice. All hospices in the UK provide vital end-of-life services but recieve no state funding and rely solely upon charitable donations. I hope that you will help me raise funds for this cause by donating. Thank you.
