Story

**Update**

Unfortunately I had to postpone my swim until 6th August, however the mighty Adam Kelly took to the water yesterday.

Congratulations on a great effort!!!

*****

Along with the 'Reasons to be Running' lot, I'll be raising money for Brain Tumor Research in memory of a top bloke, Liam Bergin.

Liam was diagnosed in 2020 with an aggressive glioblastoma multiforme and sadly passed away in June 2023.

Having known Liam for a while and bonded over sport, food and of course a drink, I'm honoured to be raising money in his memory, especially supporting a cause he so successfully supported since his diagnosis, raising over £40,000.

I'm not new to swimming but this is going to be a challenge and I'd so much appreciate anything you can give towards this important cause.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
