Doctors and scientists at the Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neuron Disease Research undertake vital research into motor neuron disease (MND); a condition that causes muscle weakness and paralysis, difficulty speaking, swallowing and breathing.

Story

We are running a half marathon on August 26th to raise money for the Euan MacDonald Centre which carries out vital research into Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Since opening in 2007 the Centre has been at the forefront of research into MND, helping to make Scotland one of the hotspots for global work on the disease that still has no cure. In particular the MND-Smart trial, the first of its kind, has been trying to repurpose drugs with the aim of slowing down and eventually finding a cure for MND.

Euan, who is also Finlay’s Dad, has had MND since 2003. His efforts to raise money for research into the disease have been extraordinary and show no signs of slowing down. We are hoping to emulate him by raising some funds for research as well. Every penny counts towards helping the lives of the thousands suffering with this disease.

We would be very grateful if you could donate all that you can for this great cause so that we can reach our target.

Thank you for your generosity,

Finlay and Thomas
