Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We have created this page, to allow others to help us raise funds for the charity, Scottish Huntington's Association.

We, (AvenueCrew - Dunfermline), as part of our house clearance services, also donate items to local charity shops and charity auctions (supporting CHAS).

Huntington's Disease is a hereditary condition that stops parts of the brain working properly over time.  Whilst there are several ongoing medical trials, there is currently no cure or way to stop the disease; More info here: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/huntingtons-disease/

Derek's Aunt Margaret sadly died from HD in 2017. Margaret's daughter, Carolyn, who was the full-time carer to her mum, took the brave decision to be tested shortly after her mum's passing. Unfortunately, she too has inherited the same faulty gene, and will therefore at some point develop HD.

We want to do everything we can to raise money for the SHA Charity (https://hdscotland.org) - to help support families affected by Huntington's, and do everything we can to find a cure!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
