Story
This will be the sixth and final walk.
In year one, three rogue bloggers walked the 33 miles from Horse Hill to Woodlarks to raise £26,000.
In year two 11 folks raised £55,000 walking the same route.
In 2020 Covid meant that it was just one rogue blogger walking 33 miles by doing 50 laps of some fields in Wales.
Year 4 saw 15 rogue bloggers raise almost £60,000 walking from Winchester to Woodlarks.
We did it again once again last year.
The amazing, if unfashionable, Woodlarks Charity provides unique holidays for severely handicapped young people and adults. Without the Woodlarks camp very few of those folks would get a holiday at all. Covid has hit Woodlarks hard in many ways and to ensure its future we ask for your support.
Two of the original controversial rogue bloggers are back this year, Lucian Miers and Tom Winnifrith. They will be joined by journalist Steve Moore and a reader of our articles Jonathan Price, both on their third walk and by readers Nick from Islington on his second walk and Sam on his first.
Mining boss Andrew Bell has said he'll join us for the fourth year, and for the fourth year, we encourage him to make it to the end. 79 year old Fleet Street Legend Brian Basham and his trainer Jacqui are also joining us.
Stop press: THREE new Rogue Bloggers will be joining us this year: Mercie Benford, a mining geologist and champion runner from Kenya and Nigel Diver a friend of Tom's who is an accountant and not a champion runner. Nigel's son, Student X, will also be walking and helping his old man cross the line. If you too want to join us, drop Tom an email at tomat49@gmail.com
Woodlarks is not one of those big and fashionable charities getting Government bailouts and paying its staff six figure salaries. This is a great cause that deserves your support, money donated here goes to where it is needed. Please support the rogue bloggers one last time and donate today.
