Story
In June 2023 we lost our good friend Josh aka Mr Josh after his battle with Leukaemia. His family and friends have embarked on a mission to continue to raise money in his name and help is legacy live on.
With 0 boxing experience I am giving white collar boxing a go to get us closer to the target. I know Mr Josh would be laughing at the thought of me doing it and no doubt willing me to take a few punches in the face for his amusement. No matter how big or small any donation gets us closer to the ultimate goal, helping Josh family create a legacy that lives forever.
The day prior to Josh passing away he was able to have one last day with some of his closest friends, without the help and medical attention he had prior received this may not have been possible. Knowing that he was able to spend his last day happy and smiling in the sun makes me sure that if money raised helps towards treatments and making somebody else have one last day closest to nearest and dearest, then its been for a good cause.
Josh was diagnosed with acute Leukaemia in December 2020 and spent the next two and a half years battling this disease. Josh fought with courage, dignity, resilience, integrity and always with a sense of humour!
Josh was and is loved by so very many people, he is an amazing inspiration for many and despite his own illness, he never moaned, complained or whinged, instead he spent his many long stays in hospital helping others and supporting the mental health of people he knew going through similar adversity.
Due to the length of time that was spent both as an in patient and out patient, the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton became like a second home to us and the fabulous team treating Josh were like family. Josh could never find enough good words to say about each and every one of them and he was very clear that he would always raise money for this great place. It would have always been his charity of choice, as it is now ours.
We lost Josh in June 2023 but his legacy will forever live on through this fund and he will continue to make a difference hopefully for many years to come. We would like to set a target of £100,00.00 - we recognise this is a significant amount of money but if we have half the spirit that Josh had we will reach this goal - whether it takes one year or 20 years we will keep fighting for Leukaemia Research in his name. Mr. Josh.
