Story
On Friday 23rd of June, 7 colleagues from Fieldbay's Tan Yr Alt Lodge will be completing a Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge in support of Age Cymru. on June 23rd. We are aiming to walk the 3 highest peaks in Wales in a 24 hour period.
The people we support have help us to chose this Charity based on the high level of need in the area following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The need for what Age Cymru do in West Glamorgan is huge, greater than ever before and growing.
Donations have fallen by 47% and they urgently need your help to continue our vital work in Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend.
Age Cymru have said:
"This is an emergency.
The people who are reaching out to us are dealing with truly distressing choices, demand for our support is skyrocketing and we can't reach everyone with the resources we currently have. People really are having to choose between eating or putting the heating on. It's not a cost-of-living crisis it's a living crisis. Connor James, Age Cymru West Glamorgan
This winter is going to be the most challenging our charity has ever faced, even worse than the pandemic. The soaring cost of living means more and more people need our help. We have become a lifeline for isolated and vulnerable older people who are struggling to keep warm, fed and cared for this winter."
Any support no matter how small will really help this amazing charity to support the elderly in our local area.
